Christian Mungai | Mariners Church
Christian Mungai (often spelled "Mongai" in searches) is a Kenyan-born pastor, author, and global speaker currently serving as the Global Movement Pastor at Mariners Church in Irvine, California. Having served at Mariners since 2007, he focuses on mobilizing the global church for discipleship and missional engagement.
- Ministry and Discipleship: Mungai leads Global Convene, an initiative aimed at uniting multicultural and intergenerational church leaders for next-generation discipleship.
- Literary Work: He is the author of the book "People Are the Wealth: An African Vision for a People-Focused, Missional Christian Life" (released in October 2025). The book explores the African concept of community and its application to Christian living.
- Musical Background: Before his pastoral career in the U.S., he was a member of Milele, an urban Afro-fusion Gospel and humanitarian singing group from Kenya.
- Education: He earned a bachelor's degree in social legislation from BAMU University in India and attended the Claremont School of Theology for his Master of Divinity.
Personal Life - Born and raised in East Nairobi, Mungai describes his upbringing as bridge-building between the socio-economic extremes of Kenya. He is married to Delta, and they have a daughter named Kabi.

An Overnight Men's Retreat held in the desert which focuses on God, Guys, Guns & Grub. This is an annual men's event and is limited to 300 participants. Safety is our #1 priority; Connecting with the Creator and each other is next on the list. We believe that guys need fellowship, and that we can connect on a deeper, more lasting level when we take a break from the busy, distraction-filled lives most of us lead.
